 Tsuchiya Kensetsu: Craftsmanship meets modern living in our natural wood homes.

Tsuchiya Kensetsu is a Japanese house builder that builds valuable wooden houses built with solid natural wood and natural materials. Our in-house artisan carpenters, who have inherited Japanese wooden carpentry techniques nurtured by long tradition, build homes that are suited to the climate of Hokkaido and can be lived in comfortably for a long lasting time.

Many modern building materials such as plywoods or glued laminated woods use volatile scientific substances that can cause allergies and health issues. Natural solid woods and other natural and organic materials like Washi papers, Diatom soils have been used since ancient times and have a long history of use. We strive to create homes with those materials that is safe and healthy to live in for people with allergies, asthma, atopic dermatitis, and other conditions. The gentle touch, warmth, and pleasant aroma of natural solid wood will make you feel connected to nature and support a healthy daily life.

Tsuchiya Kensetsu has nearly 50 years of experience in the building houses in Shiribeshi and Iburi regions. Many of our customers who have lived in our houses that we have built have appreciated our design and technical capabilities. We are pleased to announce that we are able to hold an open house in the Niseko Hirafu area by reservation only, thanks to the generosity of the owners. Reservations can be made through the following web page.

The house style has a good mix of Modern Japanese and Traditional Japanese with genuine interior and furnishings are carefully selected throughout fine works of Japan’s craftsmanship.

Notes on the Open House

• ● This open house is for those who are considering building a house in Niseko, Toyako, and Iburi area.
• ● If you are with children, please be sure to keep your hands and eyes on them.
• ● Bare feet are not allowed. Please bring socks and slippers.
